Egg # 16, UGS Design Book #1 with blue as final color (instead of purple).
It is said that as long as pysanky (Ukrainian Easter eggs) are being made somewhere in the world, the balance between good and evil is maintained. This blog is a record of my own contributions to saving the world from evil.

(May) Flowers
Loosely based on Egg Number 12, UGS Design Book #5. Easter's over but it looks like I may do some more eggs for a while...
Easter Paska - Happy Easter!
This is a terribly late post, but I thought it would be nice to include a picture of the Paska bread I made with my mom and my aunt this Easter. This is a traditional yeast bread we make every Easter -- it's served at Easter breakfast with boiled eggs, baked ham, kielbasa, and beet-horseradish.

Snow Maiden
This egg uses the diagonal division. I based the design on the crown of the Russian Snow Maiden by Boris Zworykin (The Firebird and Other Russian Fairy Tales, 1978).
Four Circles Trinity
I adapted this design from one of Luba Perchyshyn's amazing ostrich eggs (UGS Design Book #5, Egg #26).

Stars, Crosses, and Flowers
This is my own design, but the trifold design with the orange flower and purple backdrop was inspired by one of Luba Perchyshyn's simpler designs offered in a UGS catalogue.
