It is said that as long as pysanky (Ukrainian Easter eggs) are being made somewhere in the world, the balance between good and evil is maintained. This blog is a record of my own contributions to saving the world from evil.

36 Stars
My mom did this egg. It is based on a design by Luba Petrusha.
It uses the twelve diamonds division and features the iconic Ukrainian star (or sun). Diamonds can represent knowledge and the swirls/spirals protection and immortality. The use of shades of blue on this scale is non-traditional but connotes truth, health, and fidelity.
Update by Luba Petrusha: The 12 diamonds division, I have learned, is not a traditional Ukrainian division, but rather Romanian. It has become popular in recent years, as there has been much cross-cultural experimentation.
