Designs from Iryna Vakh (Ірина Вах)

Here are two pysanky my mother wrote while I was visiting for Easter. These two designs are adapted from pysanky in Ірина Вах (Iryna Vakh)'s book, I Will Paint the Voice of a Song.

Swallowing the Sun (Turkey Egg)

My own design that I've been developing and modifying for a while (see also the goose egg Bountiful Harvest (iteration 2) and chicken egg Wheat with Swallows (iteration 3)).

The Running of the Deer

This is a near-replica of a diasporan design from a UGS postcard.

Fields of Flowers (Turkey Egg)

My own design and a more intricate riff on a chicken egg design I did earlier called "Sown Fields of Spring".

Intricate Cross with Pine

The front and back medallions of this egg are based on a diasporan pysanka by Luba Perchyshyn of UGS (I believe). The band is my own design.

My own design with a non-traditional color scheme.

Folk Pysanka from Lviv Province

Close replication of a pysanka in Vira Manko's The Ukrainian Folk Pysanka (Table 5, No. 32, from Dovzhiv, Sokal region in Lviv Province; Dovzhiv does not currently exist).
