Wedding Pysanka
I made this pysanka in honor of my friend's recent wedding borrowing heavily from Taras Horodetsky (but not one egg in particular).
Chickens and roosters are time-honored subjects for pysanky given to newlyweds since they represent fertility and good fortune. The plant motif between the chicken and the rooster is a variant of the tree of life. This ancient symbol tends to represent the unified living world and creation.
This egg actually went through a draft stage since it was such an important gift. Here is the early version:
