It is said that as long as pysanky (Ukrainian Easter eggs) are being made somewhere in the world, the balance between good and evil is maintained. This blog is a record of my own contributions to saving the world from evil.

Kucheri Variation
Kucheri ("curls") often appear on folk pysanka in the form of an "S" shape. According to Vira Manko in The Ukrainian Folk Pysanka, kucheri are an extension of symbols referring to the goddess Berehynia. The pysanka pictured here is a highly stylized example of kucheri based on a diasporan pysanka featured in Zenon Elyjiw's Sixty Score of Easter Eggs (Table 35, No. 3). I have changed the color scheme and some of the details.
